One of the best things about being an English student now is the availability of online resources. Online activities and classes are becoming more and more prevalent, which is great, because they include students who need more flexibility. Because we also want to support students with unique schedules, East Bay ESL has designed a new online course about vocabulary for intermediate or advanced English/ESL students who want to study at their own pace.
Available on Udemy.com, it is a 5-week course that will help students master 50 key vocabulary words used in academic and professional settings. It uses all the common tricks of the trade -- flashcards, writings prompts, and reading activities -- but it also develops listening and speaking abilities with audio and video lectures and questions.
By the end of the course, students will . . .
. . . be able to use the 50 target words.
. . . list synonyms and antonyms for the vocabulary.
. . . use the words in speaking and writing responses.
This course will help you if you are struggling with reading higher level texts or if you need to improve your specificity in writing and speaking. This is an excellent course if your are in an English language program or if you are preparing for an English language exam like TOEFL.
Best of all, it is free!
Check back later this week for a preview of some of the course work.
